How do you decide what my property actually needs?

We start by listening and understanding what’s important to you. Caring for a property works best as a partnership. There isn't a standard program that's right for every property.

We look at the landscape as a whole, not just visible symptoms. Trees, shrubs and lawns don't grow independently. They share soil, water, nutrients, sunlight and growing space. Site conditions, soils, construction impacts, pests, disease and how you use the property all influence what makes sense.

What does “Local Care you can Trust” mean?

Greater Boston is where we live and work. Our team understands the trees, landscapes, soils, pests and growing conditions unique to the communities we serve.

Trust comes from knowing the people caring for your property are qualified, invested in the outcome and willing to give you a straightforward recommendation, even when the answer is to do less.

What makes good pruning different from simply cutting branches?

Good pruning starts with an objective and a prescription to achieve it. The right approach depends on the particular tree or plant, its age, structure, condition and what we're trying to accomplish. That may mean improving structure, reducing risk, providing clearance or preserving the character of a mature tree.

How do I choose the right trees for my property?

Think about what features you are looking for in a new tree: Is it shade? privacy screen? aesthetic features such as flowers or colorful fall foliage? Consider these factors and then give your arborist a call. We can help you guide you to a tree (or trees) that fit your property and your budget.

What is a Certified Arborist and why should I care?

Certification provides a professional foundation. A Certified Arborist has demonstrated professional knowledge and experience in arboriculture and must maintain that credential through continuing education. At BTSE, we build on that through continued education, field experience and specialists across arboriculture, plant health, safety, lawn care and related disciplines.

For our clients, that means the people making recommendations and carrying out the work have both professional knowledge and the expertise of a larger team behind them.
